Grassroots Giving Food Drive Benefits Hays County Food Bank and Circle of Hope Community Center

Join Us in the Fight Against Food Insecurity in Our Community

Did you know that 1 in 8 households in the United States are currently facing food insecurity? That means that many families in our community do not have sufficient access to quality food and other basic needs. At Weed Man, we’re proud to be locally owned and operated right here in the Austin/Buda area, and we strive to make a difference for people in need – right in our own backyard! That’s why we want to invite our customers to participate in our 2024 fall food drive: Grassroots Giving!

What to Donate

Starting October 14, 2024, we’re partnering with Hays County Food Bank and Circle of Hope Community Center to collect donations of shelf-stable, non-perishable food and household items, such as the following:

  • Canned meats (tuna, salmon, ravioli, chili)

  • Canned fruits and vegetables

  • Canned tomato products (diced tomatoes, Rotel, sauce, paste)

  • Soups

  • Peanut butter and jelly

  • Pasta and pasta sauces

  • Macaroni and cheese

  • Shelf-stable milk

  • Cereal

  • Granola bars

  • Trail Mix

  • Pancake Mix

  • Oatmeal

  • Applesauce

  • Fruit cups

  • Bottled water

  • Rice and beans

How to Donate

Donating is easy!

  1. The day before your next lawn care application during our Grassroots Giving campaign, you will receive a text or email reminder about your next service.

  2. During our visit, simply leave any food items for donation outside your front door (preferably in a box or bag).

  3. Your Weed Man technician will collect all items while they are there to complete your service.

  4. All donations will benefit our friends at Hays County Food Bank and Circle of Hope Community Center!

We hope you’ll join us in the fight against food insecurity in our community!
