Annual Bluegrass in Bermudagrass Lawns

Annual Bluegrass, or Poa Annua, is a common weed that invades Bermudagrass lawns and golf courses. It is often more visible in Bermudagrass lawns during the winter months when Bermudagrass is dormant.

Austin Watering Instructions and Information

Chlorosis in St. Augustinegrass

Chlorosis refers to the yellowing or pale appearance of the grass blades due to a deficiency of chlorophyll, the pigment responsible for the green color.

Common Bermudagrass

Bermudagrass is a warm-season grass, commonly used in residential lawns in areas with hot and dry climates. It’s a fast-growing, dense grass with a vibrant green color during the active growing season. It may turn brown or dormant during colder months or under drought stress.

Dallisgrass

Dallisgrass is a warm-season grassy weed species that grows in an ever-enlarging circular clump.

Gray Leaf Spot

Gray Leaf Spot is a warm season disease that affects primarily St. Augustine grass, Ryegrass and Tall fescue turf. It starts out as lesions on the grass leaves and stems during warm humid weather which grow larger with time, with a tan appearance in the middle surrounded by a brown to purplish margin.

Green Kyllinga is an invasive perennial sedge with narrow, grass-like leaves, commonly found in regions with warm, humid climates and abundant rainfall.

King Ranch Bluestem

King Ranch Bluestem is warm-season grass known for its drought tolerance and adaptability to a range of soils.

Leatherjackets

Leatherjackets (or European Crane Flies) can inflict serious damage on home lawns by feeding on the root hairs, roots and crowns of grass plants. Damaged areas turn yellow and wilt. Heavy infestations can result in brown patches of dead grass.

Torpedograss is a highly invasive warm-season, creeping grass that spreads quickly and aggressively, making it a nuisance to lawns, gardens, and even golf courses.

Tropical Sod Webworms

The Tropical Sod Webworm is a common pest in residential lawns, especially in warm and humid regions. These small caterpillars, measuring about ¾ inch long, feed on grass blades, causing brown patches in the lawn.

White Grubs
